Use your own AI provider key

Connect an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google so your price-check runs bill to your own account instead of your subscription's platform allocation.

Connecting a key

Go to Settings → API key. You'll see one card per supported provider — Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. Each card links to that provider's own console to mint a key: Anthropic's console.anthropic.com, OpenAI's platform.openai.com, or Google's aistudio.google.com. Paste the key into the matching card and select Save Key. The key is encrypted before it's stored — the page only ever shows the last 4 characters back to you for verification.

How your own-key runs count

A run billed to your own key still draws from the same research-unit allowance as a platform-funded run, just at a reduced weight — see Billing & credits basics for how usage is measured. If a key stops working mid-run

If your key is rejected or runs out of quota partway through a run, that run falls back to platform funding at the full rate so it can still finish, and you'll see a Switched to platform funding notification. Nothing is lost — the run completes either way.

Removing a key

On the same Settings → API key card, select Clear Key. Future runs for that provider go back to platform funding immediately.
