Sample data vs your data
Price Checker offers a sample dataset so you can explore the product before connecting anything real. This article explains how it works and how to switch to your own data.
What sample data is
Sample data is a pre-built demo — sample retailers, sample catalog products, and a history of runs, recommendations, and alerts — that lets you see the Action Center and Alerts fully populated without running any real price checks. It's meant purely for exploring the product.
Sample mode blocks real runs
While your workspace has sample data loaded, it's in sample mode, and real price checks are blocked — selecting Run now on Overview won't trigger a real run until you clear the sample data out. This is intentional: it keeps sample and real results from getting mixed together.
Switching to your own data
When you're ready to use Price Checker for real, go to Settings → General and use Reset workspace data in the Danger zone. This clears the sample retailers, catalog, runs, recommendations, and alerts, taking your workspace back to empty — from there, follow Get set up in four steps to add your real retailers and catalog.
Resetting only clears workspace data; it does not touch your account, membership, billing plan, or integration configuration.
