Sample data vs your data
See the Savings Center, spend cube and should-cost index fully populated before you connect a single real supplier.
What you get
- A pre-built demo — 4 sample suppliers, 8 purchase items across three categories, six months of spend history, and a completed check.
- A fully populated Savings Center and Alerts to explore without spending a research unit.
- A one-click path back to empty when you're ready to add your own purchase catalog.
What the procurement sample dataset contains
Sample data is a showcase dataset, not a starting catalog. It loads:
- 4 suppliers across three categories: Structural Steel, Packaging Materials, and Copper Wiring.
- 8 purchase items, each with an incumbent supplier, catalog price, and an alert threshold.
- Spend lines — roughly six months of sample QuickBooks-style spend history per item, so Spend and the should-cost index sparklines have something to plot immediately.
- Should-cost index links for all three categories, already linked to their matching public index series.
- One completed check, with savings recommendations (a switch-supplier suggestion with a draft RFQ message, a renegotiate suggestion, and one marked investigate) and alerts (including an
index_driftalert) already populated in the Savings Center and on Alerts.
Sample mode blocks real checks
While your workspace has sample data loaded, it's in sample mode, and real checks are blocked — selecting Run now on Overview won't trigger a real check until you clear the sample data out. This keeps sample and real results from mixing.
Switching to your own data
- Go to Settings → General.
- Under Danger zone, select Reset workspace data.
- Confirm. This clears the sample suppliers, purchase catalog, spend lines, checks, recommendations, and alerts, taking your workspace back to empty.
- Follow Get set up in four steps to add your real suppliers and purchase catalog.
Resetting only clears workspace data; it does not touch your account, membership, billing plan, or integration configuration.
Go further
- Get set up in four steps — what to do once sample data is cleared.
- See what needs attention — what the sample recommendations are showing you.
- Understand your spend data — where the sample spend lines come from, and how to bring in your own.
- Track contract renewals — a calendar view once you've added real renewal dates.
