Understand credits & overage

Every check spends research-unit credits — know your cap, watch it in real time, and decide for yourself whether overage is worth turning on.

What you get

  • A monthly research-unit allocation sized to your plan, refreshed each billing period.
  • A running usage view at Settings → Usage, so you see the number before you hit it, not after.
  • Overage as an explicit choice on Pro and Max — never a silent charge.

How credits work

A research unit is spent every time the agent runs a check, whether you trigger it with Run now or a schedule runs it for you. Basic, Pro, and Max each carry a fixed monthly allocation; Enterprise is unlimited. Settings → Usage shows what you've used this period and what's left.

When overage applies

Overage is available only on Pro and Max, and only if you turn it on — your cap is a hard stop by default. With overage on, runs past your included allocation continue at a metered rate instead of being refused, up to a plan-specific ceiling. Basic has no overage path — a Basic workspace at its cap waits for the next period or upgrades. Enterprise doesn't need overage; its allocation has no ceiling.

Keep cost predictable

If you'd rather stay strictly inside your cap, leave overage off — runs beyond the allocation are refused with a clear message instead of billed. Settings → Usage is the place to watch the trend before you decide either way.
