Marketing Spend
Sample data vs your data
See pacing, spend-at-risk, and competitor ad tracking fully populated before you connect a single ad account.
What you get
- Ad accounts, campaigns, and 30 days of spend history, already showing a pacing overspend, a spend anomaly, and creative fatigue on different campaigns
- Watched competitors with captured ad creative across two platforms, plus a competitor-new-creative alert
- A one-click path back to empty when you're ready to connect your own accounts
What sample data is
Sample data is a showcase dataset, not a starting catalog: a disconnected ad connection, ad accounts, campaigns, spend history, watched competitors and their captured ads, and a full run's worth of alerts and recommendations, all loaded at once so you can see MarginTide working immediately.
Sample mode blocks real syncs
While your workspace has sample data loaded, it's in sample mode — real syncs and CSV imports are blocked until you clear it out. This keeps sample and real spend from mixing.
Switching to your own data
- Go to Settings → General.
- Under Danger zone, select Reset workspace data.
- Confirm. This clears the sample connection, accounts, campaigns, spend, watched competitors, ads, alerts and recommendations, taking your workspace back to empty.
- Follow Get set up in four steps to connect your real ad accounts.
Resetting only clears workspace data; it does not touch your account, membership, billing plan, or integration configuration.
Go further
- Get set up in four steps — what to do once sample data is cleared.
- See what needs attention — what the sample recommendations are showing you.
- Connect ad accounts & campaigns — bring in your real data.
- Watch competitor ad creative — the sample gallery, before you watch anyone real.
