Price Checker

Set up competitors to watch

Know within a day when a competitor undercuts you — but only for the retailers you tell Price Checker to track.

What you get

  • Every check compares your prices against the retailers you add here, automatically.
  • Recommendations in the Action Center name the retailer that triggered them.
  • Alerts fire the moment one of these retailers moves a price.

Adding a retailer

  1. Go to Settings → Retailers.
  2. Add each competitor you want checks to compare against — a name and a product-page URL per retailer.
  3. Save. The retailer is included starting with the next run, scheduled or manual.

Start with the handful of competitors that actually move your buying decisions rather than adding every retailer you can think of; each one counts against your plan's retailer cap.

Tips

  • Too few retailers and you miss competitive moves; too many and you burn through your cap on retailers that rarely matter.
  • Settings → Billing shows current retailer usage against your plan tier — check it before a bulk add.
  • Retailers you remove stop being checked but past observations and alerts stay in Reports & history, so removing one doesn't erase what it already told you.
  • If a retailer's page layout changes and a check starts missing prices, edit the retailer's URL rather than deleting and re-adding it — that keeps its history attached to the same retailer record.

Tracking one seller on a marketplace

A marketplace store is a site where many sellers list the same product, such as a large online marketplace. By default a check follows the offer policy you chose in Policies, so the price it records is the one that policy picks.

To follow one particular seller instead:

  1. Go to Settings → Retailers and type the marketplace's domain. A choice appears under the domain field.
  2. Pick Track one seller on this marketplace and fill in Seller on this marketplace with the seller's name, exactly as the marketplace shows it.
  3. Add the store. Its row in the list shows the seller under the domain.

Leave the choice on the workspace offer policy and the store follows Policies, as before. This choice only affects the store you are adding; it never changes your workspace policy.

  • One store per seller. To follow several sellers on the same marketplace, add the marketplace once per seller and name each store so you can tell them apart, for example "Amazon (Acme Audio)". Adding the same marketplace and seller twice is refused.
  • Change it later. Open the store under Settings → Retailers and edit Seller on this marketplace. Clear it to go back to the workspace offer policy. A seller can only be set on a marketplace store.
  • Give each store its own product link. If you import product links, give every store its own link in the CSV, keyed by that store, so each store checks its own seller's listing.
  • "Seller not confirmed". The store page showed a price but did not say who sells it, or a search result named only the marketplace, so Price Checker recorded that price and flagged it. Check the listing yourself before acting on it.

How to read a retailer's history

Each retailer keeps its own timeline of observed prices, visible from its detail page under Settings → Retailers. A gap in that timeline usually means a run skipped the retailer (a temporarily unreachable page, for example) rather than a real price change — the Alerts feed only fires on a confirmed price move, not a missed read.
